Trinamool Congress leader Mukul Roy on Friday said UPA government was in a hurry to introduce FDI in retail bypassing the Parliament.
Stating that TMC ministers would submit their resignations to the Prime Minister later in the day, he said, "This is a minority government and the act of bypassing the Parliament is most unethical."
"According to our schedule we will go to the PM's house at 3 PM for submitting our resignations and after that we will proceed to the Rashtrapatti Bhavan" for communicating through a letter the party's stand that all India TMC is withdrawing support from "this anti-people government," Roy said.
Besides Roy, who is Railway minister, there are five union ministers of state belonging to the party.
Trinamool Congress ministers had earlier sought an appointment with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for submitting their resignation on Friday.
Ruling out any compromise, Roy on Thursday said TMC chief Mamata Banerjee has already announced the party’s stand of withdrawing her Ministers from the government and support to it on the issue of FDI in retail, the diesel price hike and cap on supply of LPG cylinders.
Roy recalled that former Finance Minister and Leader of the Lok Sabha Pranab Mukherjee had announced in the House that FDI in multi-brand retail would not be implemented till a political consensus is not reached.
